What is the closest airport to Glacier National Park?

Answer

Glacier International Airport in Kalispell, MT is about a half hour away from the park & wedding venue.

What is typical weather in Glacier National Park in October?

Answer

Can I bring a date?

We are so excited to celebrate with you! Due to venue capacity, guests are limited to those listed on your invite.

Due to venue capacity, children in attendance will be limited to those receiving an official invitation.

Answer

Our wedding venue, Paddle Ridge, offers lodge rooms & cabins. Please see Travel page for more details.

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided. Rental vehicles may be available in the area. If staying at Paddle Ridge, all events (except Group Hike) are within walking distance.

Will Going-to-the-Sun Road be open?

Answer

The alpine section of Going-to-the-Sun Road typically closes for the winter around the third Monday of October, but this can happen earlier due to wintery weather. Check the park's website for current road status: https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/directions.htm or sign up for the park's road status alerts by texting GNPROADS to 333111.

Do I need to worry about bears?

Answer

Glacier National Park is home to both grizzly & black bears. October is a very active time of year for both species. For more information about staying safe in bear country, please visit: https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/bears.htm We are happy provide bear spray to those who plan to hike in the area!
