A little love, a little laughter and, finally, happily ever after!

La historia de Gina y Virgilio comenzó como cualquier otra historia de amor… Bailando en un bar se miraron, conectaron, y decidieron comenzar su camino juntos. Bueno, si fuera así de simple, no estaríamos aquí contándolo. La historia real fue muy distinta, pues estaba en las manos de una persona en común el soltar el “hilo rojo” que completaría esta unión. Una noche de esas llenas de risas y grandes energías en las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián –localizadas en el Viejo San Juan, donde pronto Gina y Virgilio se estarán casando, pero no nos adelantemos– Virgilio se encontraba con un grupo de amistades que constaba con una persona muy apreciada por ambos Gina y “Yuyo,” como le decía la persona y su grupo de amistades a Virgilio. En esa noche, esa persona saludó a Gina de lejos y le cambió la vida a Virgilio. En ese momento, Virgilio se dirigió hacia la persona y le preguntó con grandes ansias “¿quién es esa jeva?” La persona, a quien a partir de ahora llamaremos Cupido, se percató del deseo de Virgilio de conocer a Gina, lo cual le dejó saber a su amiga. Gina, como toda mujer independiente, luchadora y ambiciosa respondió –con lo que hoy pudiéramos describir– con un jocoso “why?” y se resistió a saber más del tal desconocido. Virgilio, hombre de perseverancia y de energía infinita, no desistió en su cometido de conocer más sobre Gina y continuó instigando a Cupido, hasta que finalmente logró sacarle la más mínima información permitida por Gina: una cuenta de Facebook antigua y abandonada que Gina supuso le calmaría los ánimos a Virgilio y por la cual la dejaría en paz de una vez y por todas. Pero tú y yo, buen lector, ambos sabemos que Virgilio atravesaría el infierno antes de darse por vencido. Tras largas noches en la antigua biblioteca de Alejandría (o más precisamente, unos cuantos “searches” en Facebook) consiguió la página actual que utilizaba Gina en las redes sociales. Virgilio, sigilosamente, se deslizó en los “DMs” de Gina y tras varios mensajes dejándole saber que era “la mujer que él quería,” le pide que le acompañe en una cita. Esta cita, disque para “salir por ahí y conocernos mejor” todavía causaba resistencia en Gina, y esta le respondió con “Suena a Plan.” Refiérase, querido lector, a las diferentes interpretaciones de ambos protagonistas para dicha frase: “Suena a Plan,” según Gina: ¡Siéntate a esperar, mijo! “Suena a Plan,” según Virgilio: Vamos en un date, y después nos casamos. A pesar de esta discrepancia de términos, tanta fue la perseverancia de Virgilio, que finalmente, según las cartas de Gina a los apóstoles, Virgilio le “durmió el oído” y ella accedió a una cita. El resto es historia. Pero como bien sabemos, si ya leímos todo esto, nos hemos quedado con ganas de saber más, y lo ‘presentao’ solo se quita con más información, así que ahí vamos: Una hermosa noche de un viernes de verano en el Viejo San Juan –fíjese, lector, como continúa siendo este el fondo de la historia de esta pareja– quedaron en encontrarse en una antigua barra llamada Don Bienve. Y luego de tanto luchar, tanto esperar, y tanto insistir, ¿quién llegó tarde a tan esperada cita? El mismísimo Virgilio. Sin embargo, esta tardanza le permitió llegar a una escena que cementó su posición ante la mujer que por tantos meses planificó tener de frente: estaba Gina, sentada con su “old–fashion” en mano, llena de energía, y emanando un mundo por delante. Les tomó una, dos, tres horas… bueno, más bien la llegada de la madrugada, para que sus vidas se alinearan… y así despertó la magia entre ambos. Gina and Virgilio's story began like any other love story... Dancing in a bar, they looked at each other, connected, and decided to start their journey together. Well, if it were that simple, we wouldn't be here telling you about it. The real story was very different, since it was the hands of a common friend that would release the “red thread” that would complete this union. On one of those nights filled with laughter and great energy at the San Sebastián Street Festival –located in Old San Juan, where Gina and Virgilio will soon be getting married, but let's not get ahead of ourselves– Virgilio was with a group of friends that included a person very much appreciated by both Gina and “Yuyo,” as the person and her group of friends called Virgilio. That night, that person greeted Gina from afar and changed Virgilio's life forever. At that moment, Virgilio approached the person and asked with great excitement, “Who is that ‘jeva’?” The person, whom we will call Cupid from now on, noticed Virgilio's desire to meet Gina, and she let her friend know. Gina, like any independent, feisty and ambitious woman, responded –with what we could describe today– with a humorous “why?” and ignored the opportunity to get know more about this stranger. Virgilio, a man of perseverance and infinite energy, did not give up in his task of learning more about Gina and continued to instigate Cupid, until he finally managed to get the slightest piece of information Gina allowed: an old and abandoned Facebook account that Gina assumed would calm Virgilio's needs and leave her alone once and for all. But you and I, dear reader, both know that Virgilio walk through hell and back before giving up. After long nights in the ancient library of Alexandria (or more precisely, a few searches on Facebook) he found Gina’s current social media page. Virgilio then stealthily slid into Gina's “DMs” and after several messages letting her know that she was “the woman he wanted,” he asked her on a date. This date, namely to “go out and get to know each other better” still caused resistance in Gina, and she responded with “Sounds like a Plan.” Refer, dear reader, to the different interpretations of both protagonists for said phrase: “Sounds like a Plan,” according to Gina: Sit down and wait for it, ‘mijo’! “It sounds like a plan,” according to Virgilio: Let's go on a date, and then we'll get married. Despite this discrepancy in terms, such was Virgilio's perseverance that finally, according to Gina's letters to the apostles, Virgil “put her ear to sleep” and she agreed to a date. The rest is history. But as we well know, if we have already read all this, we are left wanting to know more, and the ‘presentao’ only dissipates with more information, so here we go: One beautiful summer Friday night in Old San Juan –notice, reader, how this continues to be the background of this couple's story– they agreed to meet in an old bar called Don Bienve. And after so much fighting, so much waiting, and so much insisting, who was late for the long-awaited appointment? Virgilio himself. However, this late arrival allowed him to reach the scene that cemented his position before the woman he had planned to have in front of him for so many months: there was Gina, sitting with her “old-fashion” in hand, full of energy, and emanating a world in front of her. It took them one, two, three hours... well, more like the arrival of dawn, for their lives to align... and thus the magic awakened between them.
