In 2016, we met at a Nashville Predators game. It was a brief meeting and innocently assisted by our mutual friend (Kara - you rock!). A few months later, we reconnected over back-to-back weekends of watching some March Madness basketball games (Zach's favorite thing in the world). It was during the second of those weekends, Zach made a move and told Morgan that he wasn't going to let another guy have a chance. A few dates later, we both knew that we had something really special. Two Illinois natives meeting in the city that they both love could not have made a better start to our love story. Thanks Nashville, we love ya!

On a whim in fall 2018, Zach decided that we should take a weekend trip to Asheville to see the fall colors. Morgan was completely oblivious of his intentions on this trip. Zach had a plan to propose on a specific trail. However, that part of the Blue Ridge Parkway was closed starting the night before we arrived. With his plan completely derailed, Zach was unsure what to do and then we started having car issues. Zach was not happy! Morgan was still oblivious about why this all was a big deal. We eventually found a small trailhead and started hiking not knowing what kind of trail we were even on. Zach saw a spot he liked and dropped to one knee. Morgan was shocked and immediately started crying. It was such a special moment for the two of us! We will always love Asheville for the wonderful memories that we have had there.
