Gillian & Tim met on a dating app, OkCupid, not long after Gillian moved to LA. Tim was quick to spot a new face and reached out to Gillian. Gillian, longing for a bit of the South on the West Coast, liked the bowtie Tim was wearing in his profile picture. Their first date was at one of Tim's local haunts, LBJ's, and over bean & cheese burritos sparks began to fly...

Tim planned to propose to Gillian on their first 'family' walk after their puppy (Ryder) got his last round of shots. When they went to the vet, though, Gillian was frustrated to find that there was actually another round of shots still to go. Tim recommended they go on the walk anyway, and Gillian threw what can only be described as a 'massive temper-tantrum', concerned for Ryder's well-being while walking without full immunizations. Tim persisted and brought Gillian (& Ryder) to Del Cerro Park, overlooking the ocean and Catalina Island in Palos Verdes. Gillian was cross (literally arms-crossed) for the full walk up until they reached the park's overlook. Tim got down on one knee, and Gillian thought he was 'poking the bear' to rile her up further. After some expletive use by Gillian and insisting that Tim get up of the ground, Tim popped the question. When Gillian realized he was serious, she quickly said, "Yes - is this a joke?!"
