Kelsey and I thought about making up an elaborate "meet cute" to fill our typical modern love story: girl and boy download dating app, meet at a bar, the rest is history! However, our story is what we have and to us it is very special. We met on the dating app Bumble in December 2018. I had just made a major life change of accepting a new job near St. Louis and leaving my life, friends, and family on the east coast. We arranged to meet for a drink the first Saturday in January 2019. It was my grandmother, Maw Maw's, first birthday since she passed. I was extremely close with her and it was very hard. My family was getting together in Charlotte, and all I wanted to do was to sit at home and feel sorry for myself alone in this new city missing my family. However, my Mom reminded me that my grandmother would absolutely want me to get out there and go on a date. I went and Kelsey and I immediately hit it off. We talked for hours about everything under the sun - we solved the world's problems that night. Over the next few months, Kelsey showed me St. Louis and all of the magic there. We survived a pandemic in our little one bedroom apartment with a new, growing puppy - and to us that means we can conquer it all! We support each other through life's highs and lows. We recognize that one of our wins is a win for the other. We are a team - and, of course, proud dog parents. I may be a forever beach person and he may be a forever mountain person but we rock on. Now we are starting our next chapter in Washington, DC with new jobs and a new home. It was hard to leave St. Louis where we started this journey as a couple and Kelsey's family and our friends. However, we have upgraded to a two bedroom apartment and expect visitors!! I am very excited to introduce Kelsey to a city I love so much. We are counting the days to celebrate with friends and family (when we become Scout's officially wed parents). We cannot wait to see what "forever" has in store for us!!!
