Gianni and Tina's grandparents grew up together and were best friends. When Tina's grandparents, Gennaro and Celestina, immigrated from Italy to Vancouver, they looked for a place to stay. When they came across Giuseppe and Caterina who happily opened their basement suite to them. Gennaro, Celestina, Giuseppe, and Caterina became like family. They were so close that, Giuseppe and Caterina became God parents to one of Gennaro and Celestina's children (Tina's aunt). Thus, not very long ago back in 2010 Tina's aunt was to be married and Tina was to be a bridesmaid. Little did 12 year old Tina know that her bridal partner, 15 year old Gianni, would end up becoming her future husband years later. Once Tina and Gianni met at the wedding as bridesmaid and groomsmen, their connection was instant. This connection turned into becoming each other's first kiss. After school and life went on, Tina and Gianni went their separate ways. Until, 2015 when Tina had decided to reach out to Gianni. Gianni was so surprised and stunned to receive her message that while he was at UBC, in the middle of a chemistry lab, he accidentally spilled acid from a beaker on himself and dropped a flask. The rest is history, as their wedding date will be a significant milestone in their lives as they also celebrate spending 10 years of dating together.
