An iconic Seattle site, created for the 1962 World Fair as well as our proposal location! There are several other Seattle sights near by Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Museum of Pop Culture and the International Fountain. You can also take the monorail into downtown Seattle for some retail therapy and delicious asian bites at Asean Streat Food Hall or Din Tai Fung.
One of the first spots I took Maddy to in Seattle. It is one of the oldest farmers markets in the country with lots of farm fresh produce, flower bouquets, restaurants, bars and various shops. Definitely make sure to check out the Daily Dozen Doughnut Company, Rachel's Ginger Beer, the original Starbucks, and Piroshky Piroshky. For some late night fun or yummy bites check out Bangrak Market, Pink Door, Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub or Roquette (we went here for post engagement drinks). There's also a spooky underground tour you can do at night!
Seattle Waterfront Tour stop! The Seattle waterfront is a perfect way to spend the day there are several places to stop for shopping, food, and sightseeing. If you're staying at the Edgewater, take a right as you leave the hotel and walk the pier. This is also on the City Pass if you are looking to visit several other iconic Seattle sites.
Seattle Waterfront Tour stop! Great spot for photos and to rest your feet. Don't worry if you're afraid of heights so am I, no one has to know you didn't really go on it.
Our favorite spot for just about everything; date nights, Sunday farmer's market, fancy cocktails, happy hours and our gym. Spend a morning or afternoon wandering Ballard Ave NW. Sunday morning check out the farmer's market or if you're looking for specific spots, we recommend bagels at Rachel's Bagels & Burritos, trying some funky flavored ice cream at Salt & Straw, any burger at Lil Woody's, Indian street food at Spice Waala or a yummy sandwich from Mean Sandwich. Ballard is also the perfect spot for a brewery crawl, some of our favorites include Urban Family Brewing Co, Reubens Brews, Great Notion and Lucky Envelope all are within a 2 block radius! (Sami wrote this one, we know your probably not coming from out of state to see Ballard)
This year, we ran a 5k in Fremont and completed a scavenger hunt in this quirky neighborhood. If you're looking for a fun neighborhood to wander, we are happy to provide you with a fun list of things to do/see (i.e. Fremont Troll, Statue of Lenin, Rocketship, Rapunzel, etc.) The Fremont Sunday Market has art, antiques, and delicious food trucks. There are also distillery's and brewery's for those needing to quench a thirst.
Great interactive museum inspired by popular culture. Exhibits include sculptures and artifacts from artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana as well as a section for Science Fiction for all things "spacey". Think jet packs, ray guns, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Terminator.
I only put this here because the initials are SAM. Great art museum downtown though!
Our favorite spot for a fancy sushi date. Pro tip - Reserve a spot at the sushi bar, they will hand you each piece and let you order additional bites at the end if you're still hungry.
Seattle Waterfront Tour stop! If you're looking for a little nature break in downtown seattle, this is a beautiful park with walking trails, sculptures, and a little beach!
Great place to go right before you propose!
Penguins, Tigers, and Red Pandas?! What more could you ask for from a Zoo?!
