We connected on the dating app, Tinder. Nate reached out first by sending a very intricate emoji message that said "Let's run away together". Somehow Amber was intrigued and we began messaging. Amber broke all of her online dating rules, the first which was not to text for weeks on end without meeting in person. We text back and forth for 2 weeks before we met for our first date. A rainy Thursday evening was when we finally met for our first date - night snowboarding at SkiBowl. Nate came in hard with questions, but Amber appreciated his openness and transparency. We finished the date with a drink at Charlie's in Government Camp. We've spoken everyday since then.
Nine months after our love story began, Amber found out she was pregnant. She took an at-home pregnancy test while Nate was on a long flight to Japan. After getting a positive test (twice) she had to wait about 9 hours until Nate landed and got to his hotel to call and tell him we were going to be parents. Baby H was a surprise at birth. On June 17, 2020 we welcomed our little girl, Ralphie, to the world. We are incredibly honored that she chose us to be her parents
We planned a photo shoot to capture our pregnancy. Nate decided that was the perfect opportunity to propose, but he kept it a secret. He didn't even tell the photographer (his good friend, Lance). While standing in front of our first date spot, Nate pulled out the ring of his Great Grandmother Opal and asked Amber to be his wife. The 17th has now become a special date for us, as many of our big milestones landed on that date and why we've chosen September 17th to say "I do".
