How We Met

It was August 2017, two weeks before Georgia and Zach’s sophomore year at TCU. Georgia was relaxing at the Courtyard Marriott (right by Woodshed) hotel lobby with her parents and sorority sisters the night before recruitment. Zach knew a few of Georgia’s sorority sisters and decided to come say hi (he and his friend were the only guys there). Zach met Georgia and her parents for the first time the same night! Georgia had heard lots about Zach from friends and thought he was very cute, but wasn’t looking to be in a relationship. After about a month of Zach’s best moves and consistency, Georgia decided to give him a shot. Zach was always crystal clear about his intentions and treated Georgia better than anyone has before - a true southern gentleman. By early November, Zach asked Georgia to be his girlfriend!

The Proposal

In October 2021, Zach flew to Kansas to ask Mr. Killen for Georgia’s hand in marriage. After Georgia’s Dad raced Zach around in his Shelby and shared a meal with him at The Bristol, he gave Zach his blessing. Zach and Mr. Killen went to a local jeweler and picked out Georgia’s engagement ring over a glass of Casamigos. Less than a month later, Georgia came down to Austin, TX to celebrate their 4 year anniversary and Georgia’s birthday. Thursday November 4th, Zach told Georgia he had planned a special birthday dinner for her in downtown Austin. As they were getting ready, Georgia had the famous thought for the first time “What if we get engaged tonight?” At the same moment, Zach comes down the stairs to show Georgia the brand new outfit he got for her birthday dinner (first give away). Then Zach’s Mom comes into the guest room with crest white strips in and her hair done, with no plans for the evening (second give away). Georgia and Zach were driving downtown and Zach’s calm demeanor threw Georgia off. They arrived at a park, and immediately Georgia was getting suspicious. They walked to the top of a hill to see the skyline of Austin. When they got up there, a woman was photographing people (looked like for a school project). Zach then asked her to take our picture (final give away - he hates pictures). When he did that, he took Georgia’s hands and got on a knee. Georgia was so shocked and excited and obviously said yes! They celebrated with Zach and Georgia’s parents at Three Forks, even Joe Rogan sat next to them, and then they went out together in downtown Austin. Later that weekend Zach organized a surprise engagement party with all of their friends in Dallas!
