On our first date, George took me for coffee. My two roommates were leary of me going on a date with someone I barely knew so they sat at a table across the room and creepily watched us. George would later tell me he felt like someone was watching him the entire time...
We had been planning a road trip to Colorado and every time I would present an itinerary to George he would re-suggest when we should camp and when we should visit Denver. Needless to say, I became frustrated with the many changes. I later found out that was because he was worried that if the ring didn't fit we would need to go into the city. A few weeks before we were to leave George told me he had to go pick up a package from FedEx, a birthday gift or his dad. I told him I wanted to ride along. I held the box on the way home and when we went back to Clinton that next weekend I had forgotten all about this "gift" he was supposed to be giving Denny. I had held the ring on my lap the entire time... This all leads to the moment. During our hike in Boulder George found a hidden area and told me to wait. He wanted me to take a picture of him once he got down there, but had to grab a drink first. I was adjusting the settings on the camera when I heard him ask, "What do you think?". Apparently he did ask me to marry him I have since found out. I mist have blacked out from excitement. Lol. I looked up and saw him down on one knee. I instantly starting bawling my eyes out. I was about to run to him but had to capture this moment because it was absolutely perfect. Then I attempted to run down to him, almost slipping on the loose rocks. Luckily he caught me. I love this man more than words can express and I know he'll always be there to catch me. And now I know that if he's acting fishy he probably has something up his sleeve :)
