Molly and I got to spend 4 amazing years living in San Luis Obispo. Here is a list of some stuff we enjoyed doing.

~ 4 mile up and back hike. My favorite in the city

Bishop Peak

~4 mile out & back trail. I would sometimes get lost on this trail so I recommend using Alltrails if possible to guide you.

Cerro San Luis Obispo (Madonna Mountain)

~1 mile out & back. Technically this was our *first* date. This hike is on the Cal Poly campus. Very short! Steep towards the end but pretty easy. Amazing views of the campus.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Central Coast. Known for their Santa Maria styled Tri-tip.

Firestone Grill (Cambria)

We discovered this gem too late! Reserve private hot tubs on a mountain side. It is very relaxing and fun. I highly recommend the late night reservations. 

P.S. Bring your own towel so you don't have to rent one.

Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

My (Gaston) favorite coffee shop in the area. I was addicted to their caramellos in college (caramel mixed into a shot of espresso poured over milk). They also have amazing baked good (my favorite being the breakfast sausage croissant).

BlackHorse Espresso & Bakery

An amazing view of Morro Rock. It doesn't have an official address, feel free to use your favorite navigation app but I set the address to the nearest park. It is hard to miss.

Morro Rock

Small sweet & salty cookies. Get plenty - you won't regret it! (There is also a location in downtown SLO.)

Brown Butter Cookie Company

Hidden gem. Secluded beautiful beach. There is no signal once you get there so please download the map of the area before you head out.

Montaña de Oro State Park

Low-key bar by night coffee shop by day. They have great coffee and great breakfast burritos. Probably my favorite coffeeshop in terms of vibe.

Kreuzberg California

24 hour quirky donut shop with fun flavors. One of my favorite study spots off campus. I think my love of donuts began here.

SloDoCo Donuts

Alley covered in gum. Not your place if you don't like looking at ABC gum :)
