As children, Dawn and Gary were each blessed with a childhood full of amazing adventure, fun, and meaningful life lessons. As they grew, Dawn and Gary's adventures took them traveling across the country as they pursued their passions and focused on their careers in health care. Throughout it all, they were lucky enough to have the most loving families and loyal friends supporting them every step of the way. Unbeknownst to them, their greatest blessing and their greatest adventure was heading towards them after 31 years of life. Fate brought them both back home to Louisiana in the summer of 2019. Their quest for love (with the help of technology) eventually brought them together on a rainy taco Tuesday at The Rum House. The weather was terrible, the tacos ok, but they were both delighted to find the company was incredibly fantastic. That first date led to many memorable experiences including: trivia, bowling, golfing, hatchet throwing, painting, skiing in Colorado, watching LSU with the national championship, catching beads at Mardi Gras, beach trips, binge watching shows during the pandemic, and traveling to TX/MS/AL/FL/WI/NY/NJ/PA/IL. Gary helped Dawn to appreciate crawfish, oysters, hot sauce, the benefits of a refreshing beverage, and a good show after a long day. Dawn helped Gary rediscover his faith, gain a tolerance for waking up early to exercise, making a schedule, cooking difficult recipes, prioritizing time with loved ones, and trying new things. After a year of dating, Gary challenged Dawn to hike the 14,065 ft Mt. Bierstadt in Colorado. At the top of the mountain he presented her with a souvenir “rock” while professing his love and desire to spend the rest of his life with her. She said... YES! They have been happily engaged ever since and recently bought a home together where they will start their newly married life and future family together. The rest of their history is yet to be written, but one thing is for sure... their love will never end!
