We met and became friends not long after graduating high school in the summer of 2004, although we had probably me when we were young kids as our parents use to hang out an attend parties together. After not seeing each other for years, Gary reached out and began pursuing Christy in the summer of 2022. After he persuaded her into attending a Jon Pardi concert with him on 09-16-2022, their spark and chemistry was undeniable. When the concert was over they both realized they had hardly listened to any songs during the show and instead spent the evening engaged in deep conversation. By the nights end it was apparent they needed to pursue a relationship and the rest became history.

A few days before Gary was leaving to go to Florida, we went to Tera and Willie's house for Jacobs Birthday. He had just gotten my ring in and even though he had plans of a different proposal, he decided he didn't want to wait. With all the commotion of the party I didn't realize Gary told his dad go get the ring. Then he tricked me into going outside with him and Tera to cool down. He pointed out something in the yard and when I turned back around he was on one knee. Everything after that is kind of a blur but the next thing I remembered was him asking "Will you marry me?". I know I said "YESSSSS!!!" before he even finished the sentence. Then I looked at the beautiful ring he picked out and I fell in love even more. It couldn't be more perfect, even if I picked it out myself. The rose gold and three stones make it so unique. To me it represents our past present and future. The past when we knew each other growing up, the amazing life we have now in the present, and the wonderful life I see us having in the future. I was so happy he asked me that night because I wanted him to ask before we were going to be apart. It helped me feel closer to him while he was gone. I already knew he was going to ask at some point. We talked about our future together enough for me to know it was coming. I just didn't know when or where. It was so personal and everything I ever wanted. I can't wait to be his wife.
