Garrett and Christine met their second semester at Dallas Baptist University. They signed up for the same section of New Testament and met the second day of class. Garrett signed up for the class with a group of his friends that he lived with in the dorms. On the first day, he saw Christine walk into the room and told himself that next class, he was going to ditch the boys and find a way to sit next to her. Sure enough, that's exactly what he did. He sat in the chair right in front of Christine, turned around and made a corny joke to get her attention, and the rest is history.

It was supposed to be another normal, annual Family Weekend at DBU.  Christine's family was coming up that Friday night with plans to meet them and her sister for dinner.  Her parents ended up "running late”, so Christine and Garrett headed to dinner alone.  They found themselves at the Ghengis Grill where the two had their first official date.  From there, Christine and Garrett went to "kill some time" at Cedar Hill State Park, a place where they had one of their most favorite and meaningful dates.  Little did Christine know that the events of the day were planned well in advance.  It was here that Garrett proposed, and the two began their forever.
