When Alex sent a private message to Garrett over Instagram, she never thought he would even see it. To her surprise, they connected almost immediately and realized they were living just ten minutes from each other in San Diego. They decided to meet for their first date at Dini's in Carlsbad, and fast forward several spontaneous dates later, from cruising the Pacific Coast Highway on Garrett's motorcycle to a photoshoot for Boot Barn in Joshua Tree, they quickly knew that they had something special. When Garrett decided to leave for Reno to pursue his career in firefighting, they both took a leap of faith and decided to move in together and create their life in a new city together. Garrett currently works for Reno Fire Department, and Alex is a yoga instructor for Lululemon Studio, Xponential Fitness and YogaSix.

Alex and Garrett flew in from Reno and immediately set out for a sunset boat cruise with Lisa and Tom Farrar on the San Diego Bay. With spontaneity being a theme throughout their relationship, Garrett decided it was the perfect opportunity for an intimate and special engagement. Garrett asked Alex to do the classic Titanic "Rose" pose at the end of the bow, and when Alex turned around Garrett was on one knee, asking to spend forever together. It was the perfect evening of celebration with lots of happy tears, champagne toasts, and facetimes with friends and family from all over the world. Fun fact: September 29th would have been one of Garrett's grandfathers' 105th birthday!
