This story is three-fold. Justin and Kaylee both went to Brownsburg High School and graduated in 2017. Justin was a diver and Kaylee was a swimmer. They didn’t run in the same circles but considered themselves acquaintances. One of Kaylee’s best friends became one of Justin’s teammates, and this would be an essential friendship in the years to come. Fast forward 5 years to October 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. Justin and Kaylee were both asked to be a part of their good friend’s bridal party, and were in Nashville to celebrate her bachelorette party. They hadn’t seen each other since high school, and played catch up with everyone. While Kaylee was oblivious, Justin was smitten for her. Was it the nerds rope they shared? The romance of broadway in Nashville, the face masks, or the mimosas? Justin says it was the quality of conversation and time spent together over a short 48 hours. While Kaylee looked forward to November for her friend’s wedding, Justin had a little more to look forward to. For the first time in her life, Kaylee was oblivious to the situation and had no ulterior motives. Once she realized that she and Justin were the only bridal party members that didn’t have dates, she asked if he wanted to stick together through the night. Justin would like to thank Brennan for not coming to the wedding as Kaylee’s plus one. After everyone had gotten ready, Kaylee asked Justin to help her with her shoes. It was when he stood up and looked at her that she realized he was into her. For the rest of the night, Justin stuck close to Kaylee’s side. Justin would like to thank Rowan for putting his number into Kaylee’s phone that night. By Monday, Justin had asked Kaylee on a date, and they haven’t spent much time apart since. They officially started dating New Year’s Eve, and made it official moments after the ball drop. The final monologue in the classic, When Harry Met Sally, is Kaylee’s favorite profession of love in cinematic history. Through a mug with this monologue on it, Justin would quietly tell Kaylee he loved her around Christmas. Every girl wants a movie-like love story, and Kaylee feels lucky she actually got it. This is why they will be celebrating their anniversary on New Year’s Eve for the rest of their lives.

October 7, 2022, was the day of Danielle and Mitch’s Bach Party, and a year later on October 7, 2023, they picked out Kaylee’s engagement ring. 6.) Justin proposed at Eagle Creek, one of their favorite date spots, on October 28, 2023. 7.) Groomswomen, Danielle and Alli, were hidden in the trees taking pictures of the entire proposal. 8.) After they got engaged, they went and relived their first date in Broad Ripple at Condados and the Brick House Dueling Piano Bar.
