We met many many years ago at the oh so famous Jersey Shore (Seaside Heights, NJ to be precise). It was the last day of summer vacation and both of our families decided to go to the beach. Our families were individually having a wonderful time. Laura's mom, Martha, and Chris's mom, Jessica, were both gazing out at the ocean. That's when Jessica started to strike up a conversation with Martha. This resulted in finding out that Christopher was about to start as a freshman at Bergen County Academies. Laura was about to start applying to attend that high school. Long story short, we started going to the same church and high school. After a few years of friendship, we decided to pursue a relationship and we've been happily together ever since.

We first started dating November 5, 2011 in high school. We would go on dates to the movies, to Chipotle, or to the MoMA in NYC. Those were beautiful, simple, sweet times. Little did we know it would be the only time in our relationship where we weren't long distance. Shortly after in Aug 2012, Christopher moved to Boston for his undergrad. Then Laura moved to upstate NY for her undergrad. Originally we planned to end long distance after college, but Laura decided to pursue her software engineering career in Seattle while Chris pursued his PhD at Princeton! Despite all odds, we've endured 7 years of long distance. It's been a tough but beautiful journey. We have continuously determined that if the result means being together, that the long distance is worth it. And now, here we are, preparing a celebration worthy of celebrating the end of years of long distance and the beginning of our life together. We want YOU there. Chris proposed to Laura after a weekend of Seattle surprises. He took her all around Seattle, not telling her their destination. While walking in an arboretum surrounded by large tall trees, he waited for a moment where it was only them, got down on one knee and asked to spend forever together.
