To prepare for the reception, guests will be asked to leave the venue at 6:30 pm & return at 7:00 pm. The venue is located in an area of Des Moines known as the East Village, which is known for shopping, bars, and food. Below are some places you may want to visit during the 30-minute timeframe.

Up Down is an adult arcade that houses several new and throwback games (The Simpsons, N64, Pinball, etc.). Up Down also serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and food.

Raygun is kitsch Des Moines. They sell sarcastic and funny t-shirts and souvenirs by the boatload.

Zombie Burger + Drink Lab is famous for its creepily named drinks, food, and decorations. Although you will return to the venue for dinner, you may want to try one of their milkshakes (either alcoholic or non-alcoholic) from the drinklab.
