In a classroom at the University of Dayton one morning, a room full of GenEd English students groaned when the professor requested the students to find a partner and trade papers for a peer-to-peer proofreading. Little did she know, two of those students would find much more than a peer editor that day. Anna looked over her left shoulder, Joe looked to his right, and with the lock of the eyes and a simultaneous point, Anna and Joe teamed up for the first time. Joe, who was immediately smitten, continued to chip away at Anna for another year and a half through a series of grand and foolish gestures until September of their senior year when things finally began to fall into place. As this happened, both Joe and Anna, as well as of their friends, could hardly believe how well it was going. It didn't take long to realize that Anna and Joe would do whatever it takes to support and be there for one another, whether separated by a few blocks in the Dayton Ghetto or by a few states 1000 miles away. When Joe got his first assignment for the Air Force to Pensacola, Anna continued working in Pittsburgh as a Medical Assistant while simultaneously earning her master's degree and applying to medical schools. Through their constant mutual support, faith in God, and faith in one another, Anna and Joe are excited to be able to say that their long distance relationship will officially be coming to an end. Joe will be going to fly F-15Es at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina and Anna will be attending Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine just down the road.
