Mattia's home town - the birth place of the famous Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Reggio Emilia is not a regular tourist spot, so you can get a real look into Italian city life. Check out Black Mamba, a sports/lifestyle store, on Via Crispi in the downtown area. Here you will meet Mattia's childhood friend Luca with his faithful security guard Shira (the cutest Akita you will ever meet). And no joke, check out the public toilets at Piazza Prampolini. They come highly recommended by Val as the most beautiful public bathrooms in Italy, if not the world

You can't visit Modena without sampling balsamic vinegar. Check out the Acetaia Cavedoni for a tour of Modena's oldest balsamic vinegar producer. Shop the small boutiques.
