The Wedding Website of Gabrielle Alford and Landon Mills
Photo by Love is Rad. We are over the moon to be celebrating our wedding in Terlingua, Texas. This ghost town was a staple of Gabi's childhood and is a place held near and dear to her heart. Between the desert mountains and the town's charm, we know you'll love it just as much as we do. Now to address the big question: Where exactly is Terlingua located? Getting out to the ghost town can be a little tricky, but we are here to help! Below you will find details on getting out to the ghost town as well as accommodations available in the area! Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions!

Flight

Midland International Air & Space Port

If you would like to travel by plane, MAF located in Midland is the best airport to fly into as it is the closest airport to Terlingua. From there, car rentals are available. It is approximately a 3 hour and 45-minute drive from the airport to Terlingua. Please make sure to call or book your rental car ahead of time to secure your ride!

Travel Note

Driving From Louisiana to Terlingua

Depending on where in Louisiana you may be coming from, the drive is between 12 to 14 hours. While it is a long drive, it is easy to break it up with a pit stop in San Antonio to enjoy the beautiful river walk before heading out to the Ghost town! (make sure to stop by Mi Tierra's for the best Mexican pastries!) It is a straight shot drive down I-10 West until you hit US-67 South, just a few turns and you are in Terlingua. After passing San Antonio make sure to plan and track your gas stops, as they become sparse the further west you drive.

Tips for staying in Terlingua

-Please be sure to stay hydrated, as we are in the desert. Mornings and evenings are cool, but the days can get pretty warm! -Fill up on gas as often as possible. Gas stations are few and far between. -Make sure your vehicle lights work and a spare tire is available! -Stock up on groceries at the Cottonwood General Store in Terlingua, and for a wider selection, in Alpine at Porter's. -Download maps and directions as there are stretches of travel where there may be no cell service.
