This is the mountain where we are getting married! There is some hiking trails and a winery down the road.
There are tons of places down market place to shop and eat! Some of our favorite restaurants are Brewery’s Alley, Bushwallers, Frederick Social, and Pizza Pretzel Creations.
Just the largest winery in the state. Linganore Winecellars is known for some of the best wine in this state. Some of Gabriella’s favorite wines are the Apple Spiced, Peach, and Moscato (sweet wine for the win!). There is also a brewery on site (Red Shedman brewery) carrying a selection of various beers and ciders.
Maryland is full of history. Monocacy National Battlefield is one of the closest battlefields near us. Highlighting the Battle of Monocacy in the Civil War fought in 1864. Nearby there are several other Civil War sites such as Harpers Ferry WV, Gettysburg PA, and Antietam National Battlefield. For history friends who don’t want to leave the area Downtown Frederick has a civil war of medicine museum.
D.C. is just about an hour away from the Frederick area. I would recommend parking and taking the metro from Shady Grove. D.C is full of museums and monuments.
