Gabriel and I met in high school through mutual friends. We began dating December 19th, 2008. We are incredibly fortunate to have met each other so early in life. We have practically grown up together, who gets to say something like that! We have survived high school, college, Gabe's Masters, and finally/hopefully soon my PhD. We have built a strong foundation through our faith and love, and have had amazing familial examples we look up to. This is not only the beginning of a new life together, but also a continuation of the love we have shared for the past 9+ years.
On our 9th anniversary we shared an amazing dinner at the Pearl, after which Gabe said he had bought us dessert at the new house. When we arrived, Gabe said, "I got us a cake, I'll bring you a slice just sit here." At this point all I thought about was CAKE-my fave! After what seemed like forever, he calls to me, "Meg, I need your help with the cake!" to which I respond "Oh gosh, what did you do!" I look at him and ask him where the cake was because I didn't see it, and he tells me to turn around. On the bar is a small chocolate cake with a red ribbon with the words "Will you marry me?", instantly I start crying and turn around and he's on one knee! I think I said something like "DUH, yes!" It makes so much sense for our story to begin right where our life together begins, which made the proposal that much more special.
We are so incredibly excited and happy to share this beautiful moment with y'all! Thank you, so much, for being a part of our lives. We love y'all so much!
