Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please check the travel section of our website. We have a list of suggested hotels but we do not have room blocks reserved. Don't forget to check out Airbnb or VRBO for accommodation options in the area!

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered on Zola, West Elm, Williams and Sonoma, and REI.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 4:15. Please plan to arrive by 4:00.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. The dress code is semi-formal. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are welcome to all events, except our wedding ceremony and reception.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

La Valencia has a valet. If you prefer to park your own car, there is parking in the neighborhood around the hotel.

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

Answer

We ask that all guests be up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccines. We encourage testing prior to the wedding to keep all of our loved ones safe and healthy!

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

It’s a mix! The ceremony will be outdoors, and the cocktail hour and reception will be in an indoors/outdoors hybrid space.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We encourage you to check the forecast before coming to La Jolla. Daytime temperatures in September average 72 degrees during the day and 65 degrees at night.

What will your wedding day timeline look like?

Answer

This is subject to change, but for now our timeline is as follows: 9:00 am - Bridal ‘getting-ready’ room opens (family welcome) 11:00 am - Groom’s ‘getting-ready’ room opens (family and friends welcome) 4:00 pm - Ceremony begins 4:30 pm - Ceremony ends 4:30 pm - Cocktail hour begins 5:30 pm - Cocktail hour ends/guests asked to make their way to reception 5:40 pm - Grand Entrance/First Dance/Welcome Toast 6:00 pm - Dinner begins 7:00 pm - Dinner ends 10:00 pm - Wedding ends - after party begins

How long will the ceremony be?

Answer

We expect our ceremony to take about 30 minutes.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What’s the best way to let you know?

Answer

We have built a menu that we hope leaves everyone with delicious things to eat throughout the night. But please send Gabby or Andy a text if you have dietary restrictions (Gabby: 214-538-3081, Andy: 770-367-0212).

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

We'll be serving passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a plated dinner and dessert. Premium cocktails will be available during cocktail hour and after and dinner. Beer and wine will be served during dinner.

There will be an open bar during the cocktail hour and after dinner, with beer and wine served during dinner.

Will there be an after party?

Answer

Yes! For those that would like to join, we might go to another nearby bar when the wedding ends at 10:00pm.

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a gift table for your convenience.
