Hey, everyone! Rosie here, your wedding CCO (Chief Cuteness Officer), and today I want to tell the story of how I met my mother—and, I guess, how Paige and Alex fell in love. It all begins where every great romance starts: business school. My mom first noticed my dad at a pool party, where she thought his rose tattoos were “pretty hot.” My dad admitted he was too nervous even to start a conversation. He started falling for my mom during a tutoring session, after she complimented his ability to analyze an exhibit. Honestly, how Hallmark hasn’t made a movie about two consultants falling in love is beyond me! Quick conversations at McColl, funny GIFs and memes sent via text, and perfectly timed run-ins at Bob’s led to more and more time spent together. After some strategic nudging from their friends Jenny and Heath, my parents shared their first kiss at the most romantic spot in Chapel Hill—the StillLife dance floor. Rumor has it my Auntie Audrey caught my mom in the act, but that’s just hearsay. From there, the whirlwind began. Weekends in Wilmington, “hostage situations” at the Durham Food Hall, and, of course, the day I came into the picture... a week after my dad told my mom, “I’m thinking about getting a dog.” From road trips to D.C. and New York to exotic vacations in Mexico City and Argentina, Mom and Dad kept falling more and more in love. Some of my favorite things about them are their joy for cooking (I love when they drop stuff), lazy Sundays on the couch, and parties in the backyard by the fire pit (I don’t love the fire—just the snacks). My pack is the best, and I can’t wait for it to get even bigger.
