Franky was a quiet kid. As was I. My spanish was still my primary language and english was a stretch. I felt strange speaking to people so naturally he accused me of being stuck up. He liked me from the start and told his mother he was gonna marry me one day. We realized we were neighbors living on the same street of Longview. Now we laugh about being Longview Lovers. Our friendship slowly began with playing in the school yard. Playing around our neighborhood with the street kids at the parks. We played football and fut-ball (soccer) at West-gate park. We traveled up and down Longview street like we owned it. He on his 200 block and I on my 400 block. Our friendship continued all through Junior high school. He at Driscoll and I at Hamlin. I rode the bus home and many times as my bus would pass his corner or near it, he'd be there watching. It wasnt until high school at Miller that we finally united. We had many classes together and we shared alot of other things together. We grew through our awkward stages in our early teen years together and learned new experiences with one another. He always knew I was the one. I was the difficult one. But I would always go looking for him through out all our years. That was a certainty. Through every victory, defeat, let down, heart break, family ordeal and passing of our family and friends, our friendship didn't cease. Thank God for him never giving up on me and my persistence to find him. We know each other better than any person could. Everything is done at its perfect moment and this is ours. Franky & Pili est. 1977 He's finally gonna be Mr. 'Colmenero' now. Thank you Jesus for giving us this blessing.
