You cannot go wrong in selecting a pastry, but our favorites are the "one to go," a baked egg and cheese casserole served between a cheddar cheese scone (HEAVEN), and a chocolate chip scone. Just know their hours are Tue-Sat from 8 AM to 1 PM
Have you really visited Nashville if you didn't try hot chicken? Our big tip is to head to the Melrose location to avoid long lines.
There are a couple of locations, but this is our favorite. We frequented the by-the-slice window quite a bit on walks home. Melissa loves the prosciutto & basil and Andrew loves the T-Rex. Oh, and the garlic knots are delightful.
Lot's of burger places in Nashville, but this dive bar is our personal favorite. It's a no-nonsense straight-up burger with the crispiest fries. They have a patio outback if you want to stay awhile.
If you're looking for a bar that has miniature bowling, video games, and much more - this is your spot. An indoor/outdoor atmosphere a close to downtown as you can get. Check this place out if you're bored of the typical bar or honkeytonk.
If you have time, this place is our favorite to walk around. It's beautiful all year long, but the fall is exceptional. Our favorite spots are the Blevins Japanese Garden and the Wisteria Arbor located on the Mansion's West Wing.
One of Nashville's greatest gems. The original home of the Grand Ole Opry and our favorite music venue in Nashville! Highly recommend the tour.
12 South is a half-mile, walkable neighborhood with shopping, dining, Nashville murals, and a great outdoor park. Our favorite spots include Jeni's Ice Creams, Christie's Cookies, Frothy Monkey Coffee, Edley's Bar-B-Que, & Burger Up.
During a visit to Nashville, I convinced Melissa (against her objections) to bar crawl on lower Broadway. Allow me to share my tips on how to best experience what Broadway has to offer. For ease, I recommend you start on 4th Ave next to the Ryman Auditorium and work your way down the street to 2nd Ave. In each bar, the higher the floor, the younger the crowd and... the older you will feel. Tootsie's is a famous bar, which means it's crowded, so I usually pass and go to Second Fiddle. Next door is Lay-las, which plays my favorite music with Rock-A-Billy. Stop at Roberts Western World for the best fried Bologna sandwiches. Please DO NOT buy cowboy boots unless you're from the Southwest. Andrew is from Nashville, and I've never seen him wear a cowboy hat either. Head down 2nd Ave to visit the Wild Horse Saloon for line dancing, then ride the mechanical bull at Wild Beaver Saloon around the corner. Make a last stop at the ACME Feed Store. Enjoy!
