We met at our good friend's wedding reception. As cliche as it sounds, there was such a spark we both knew was special. The saying, "when you know, you just know" couldn't be any truer. Dom was so smooth that night, with the cute confidence he says he didn't know he had (yet he always does...swoon). Jen thinks he was playing hard to get so she was the one who finally asked him to dance. We danced the night away, with our goofiness in pictures to prove. Jen gets a respectful phone call from Dom early Monday morning (quite confident, you'd say), stating, "You're leaving (back to AZ) in a few days so we can't waste time...I have to get to know you." He romantically picked her up at her parents' house that evening and took her to dinner in Monterey with a stroll on Carmel Beach afterwards. Jen booked a flight back to Monterey within a few weeks. The rest is history, and a lot of fun flights and phone calls! It was truly love from the beginning. A year later, we got engaged back there on the cliffs of Carmel Point.
We love traveling and adventuring, so Sedona easily came to mind as the perfect place to get married. Right after we got engaged we took an amazing road trip around the Southwest to celebrate (and move Jen to CA from AZ). As we woke up to the first daylight in the rooftop tent camping in the wilderness off of Schnebly Hill Road in Sedona, both of us were in awe. Sedona is known for its magical vortex energy amidst breathtaking views of red rock cliffs and canyons. We decided we want to get married in such a special place to us with even more of that on-top-of-the-world feeling than we already feel!
Dominic planned the proposal for months and considered every detail with careful and loving thought, including surprising Jennifer with both of their families for a dinner celebration afterwards. It was intimate, romantic, absolutely beautiful and real (Zoe almost fell down the Carmel Point rocks into the ocean...Dom almost lost the ring pulling her back up). He is smooth. It was perfect. This will forever be our spot. We packed up the following morning and hit the road to Arizona!
Because we love a good reason to throw a party! (After covid craziness). We plan to have a larger wedding reception celebrating with all of our loved ones later in the year or early 2022 in Monterey County, CA. Details TBD.
