While Britny was auditioning to be a Tampa Bay Lighting Girl, James was getting ready to direct his next show, Disaster! The Musical. After what seemed like a very promising few rounds of auditions for Britny, she was not selected to become a member of the team. Meanwhile, James had someone drop out of the show and was now looking for someone to play the "Hot Girl in Towel". James's Stage Manager had reached out to Britny asking if she was available to do a show. Considering Britny had not made Lightning Girls and her Tampa Bay Storm season was wrapping up, she was able to accept the role. They both got a little more than they were expecting from the experience as this is how they met. They spent countless rehearsals together (with the entire cast) and eventually James asked Britny to grab drinks after rehearsal one night. They continued to hang out almost every day and kept their relationship a secret from the entire cast for the whole run of the show, which they will both admit was kind of fun. Had Britny made Lightning Girls and had James not had Erin as his Stage Manager or not had someone drop out, things would have turned out very differently. There is no such thing as coincidence. You are exactly where you are supposed to be at this moment in time. They believe their love story proves that true.
