How We Met

7 Summers Ago

With Mason being one of my cousin Lexus' classmates at Kickapoo, we knew each other in passing since middle school. However, the one event we recall actually talking at was at Lexus' 17th birthday party-- 7 summers before we officially started talking in 2021. Being from the same area, we seemed to start bumping into each other more often, but the timing was never right. One broken down truck later, my brother-in-law Zeke officially met Mason (who helped fix said truck) and immediately started asking all about him because he felt that we'd be a perfect fit. With a little push from Mr. Matchmaker, I (super casually) asked Mason if he was attending a party at Yuba. We both braved the flooding that night and made it to the party. There, we talked for hours, converted Mason from Busch to Coors Light, and kicked off the beginning of the rest of our lives together. - Paige

The Proposal

10/22/22

One of our favorite things to do together is going on Gator rides through the trails in the woods around the farm. During our first Fall together, we went on a ride through the woods on a warm day in October. On a particular spot on the trail, the leaves were a vibrant yellow and we stopped to take a photo. In that moment, I thought "This is the spot where I'm going to propose to Paige someday". Fast forward to the following summer, we started browsing rings to get an idea of what Paige liked. Shortly after, I went back to Howe's and ordered the ring. The day after picking the ring up, coincidentally Patty's (Paige's mom) birthday, I asked both of Paige's parents for their blessing to marry their daughter. Patty cried tears of joy and Craig replied with "I was wondering when you'd ask." I then explained to them my proposal plan. Being that corn harvest was in full swing, Craig told me that we'd finish early that Saturday to give me plenty of daylight to go on a ride. After finishing for the day, I asked Paige to go on a Gator ride as it was likely that last warm day of the fall. Completely unsuspecting, I drove to our spot on the trail and asked to take a picture like we had done the year before. After we took the picture I got down on a knee, and asked her to marry me. - Mason
