Travel Note
For groups traveling together and looking into AirBnB/VRBO rentals, we suggest looking in either Midtown or Corktown. Downtown is also a nice neighborhood, but there may be fewer home rental options. Additionally, you can stay in cities like Royal Oak and Ferndale, but these would mean longer Uber rides for festivities.
Travel Note
– FROM THE AIRPORT – If you're traveling with 2 or more people to Detroit, we recommend taking an Uber / Lyft to your hotel, it will come out to approx. $40 - $50 per ride. There will be a new bus service from DTW to downtown Detroit, however you may still have to walk 10 - 15min to your hotel. – WITHIN DETROIT – To our European friends: please keep in mind that you're traveling from the land of walk-able cities to the city that invented cars. We suggest relying on Uber / Lyft even for the short distances while within Detroit, it is unfortunately not the most pedestrian-friendly city. We don't recommend a rental car if you're just in Detroit for the weekend. Parking may be expensive and hard to find as the Detroit Tigers will play every day over the weekend. If you're traveling before or after the wedding it might be the best option to pause the rental for the weekend, if possible. The easiest and cheapest way to get around town is Uber / Lyft. There is one tram that covers a part of Woodward Ave (The Q Line). You can use it to get to Garden Bowl on Friday night, but it only drives North / South, which won't get you to the venue on Saturday.
