If you are staying elsewhere and would like transportation to and from the wedding and reception please be sure to let us know the address well in advance. Shelter Island is bigger than it appears! It may be helpful to rent a car if you would like to explore.

The Ram's Head Inn Rooms has been reserved for Family and close friends. Please be sure to confirm your reservations ASAP by calling the Inn. There are also three mooring balls and room to anchor in the harbor for those who choose to sail in. Please contact the Ram's Head to reserve.

Drive to Greenport to the North Ferry

Both the South or North Ferries to Shelter Island can be reached by car in approx. 2.5 to 3 hours from New York City (longer on peak summer travel days). To get to North Ferry from New York City: *PUT GREENPORT, NY into your GPS* or most GPS's will take you via the Hamptons Take the Long Island Expressway (I-495) east to the last exit, exit 73. The off-ramp will lead you directly to Suffolk County Route 58 east. After about three and one half miles, County Road 58 will merge into Route 25 east. Continue on Route 25 east for about 20 miles to Greenport. Watch for signs marked "To Route 114 South." These signs will direct you to turn right onto Sixth Street. Drive one block and make your next left on Wiggins Street ("To 114 South"). At the end of Wiggins Street ferry traffic makes a hard right turn and continues turning right to enter the final staging area. The ferry line takes you away from the ferry, around a loop, and back in line facing the ferry dock and passenger terminal.

Long Island Railroad to Greenport

The Long Island Railroad offers train service from New York City to Greenport, Long island. Airport Connections: The Long Island Railroad can be accessed from JFK airport via the Airtrain to Jamaica Station. Once at Jamaica you can board a train to Greenport and connect with the North Ferry, you will stop and switch trains at the Ronkonkoma Train Station in Long Island.

North Ferry from Greenport

The Ferry from Greenport to Shelter Island leaves every 10 to 20 minutes. The boat leaves Greenport at 6:00am; the last boat is at 12:00 midnight.

The South Ferry from Sag Harbor

The ferry from Sag Harbor to Shelter Island leaves every 10 to 15 minutes. The boat leaves Sag Harbor at 5:40am; the last boat is at 11:45pm. .

Hampton Jitney from NYC

The Hampton Jitney operates out of New York City out of multiple pick up points. Take the North Fork Line to Greenport. The bus drops off at the North Ferry.

Hampton Jitney from LGA or JFK

Airport connection passengers should take a cab from JFK or LGA to the Queens Airport Connection stop in Fresh Meadows, Queens. The stop is located at the corner of 190th Street and the Eastbound Service Road of the L.I.E. Be sure to allow 25 to 30 minutes.
