We’re getting married!

In true millennial fashion, Matt and Trish both “swiped right” on each other on a dating app! They were brave enough to go on a first date and by the end of that night, both came away with the same thought: they were soulmates. Despite attending rival universities (Wolfpack v. Tar Heels), they bonded over their love of Durham, great food, and hip hop music. Their greatest shared love is their German Shepherd Dog, Heidi.

Matt and Trish took a long-awaited trip to visit Matt’s brother and sister-in-law in Lake Tahoe, California in late February 2020. Matt popped the question before a blizzard on the shore of Lake Tahoe at the beautiful Edgewood Resort. They celebrated their engagement that night and week with gambling, hiking and skiing. They think fondly back on that trip, as their engagement has been prolonged by the Covid-19 pandemic soon to follow.
