After spending their college careers running in the same circles but never meeting, Amanda and Ryan finally crossed paths at a mutual friend's birthday party - Paul's infamous Pond Day. Through a series of unfortunate events that Amanda absolutely didn't play a role in, Ryan injured his ankle. In typical fashion, Amanda gave Ryan a hard time about whether or not he truly hurt it. Two days and one doctor appointment later, Amanda received the first of many messages from Ryan - one that simply included a X-ray of a clearly broken ankle. Overwhelmed with guilt, Amanda volunteered to to hang out and help Ryan while he was limited by crutches. The rest is history!
In April 2019, Amanda and Ryan spent several weeks exploring Europe - an adventure they spent more than a year planning. In England, they climbed castles in Leciester, watched rugby in Rugby, and paid the royals a visit in London. Between Bilbao and Barcelona, they ate their weight in Iberico ham and cooked paella with the locals. During their last stop in Paris, Ryan planned a picnic in the Luxembourg Gardens. Despite having beautiful weather the entire trip, the forecast was murky this day. They ultimately had the picnic (albeit in a gazebo!) and in a brief, clear moment they ventured to the hidden Medici Fountain. At the fountain, Amanda and Ryan took part in the tradition of tossing two coins into the fountain for good luck and asked a passerby to snap a picture to commemorate the experience. They got into position, snapped a few pics, and Ryan surprised Amanda by getting down on one knee. After the sweetest speech, Amanda obviously said yes and they celebrated that moment by having dinner in the Eiffel Tower!
Amanda and Ryan are getting married at The Mill at Fine Creek just outside of Richmond, Virginia. We chose the location because it immediately awed us; ruins from the 1700's with ivy and greenery as the backdrop to our ceremony, a lazy creek with gorgeous views, and an indoor reception space filled with light. We hope you are able to join us for our special day and are as excited as we are to get married!
