Flight
Best airlines to use for traveling from the USA to Tanzania are KLM, Turkish Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines. You will use the airport code JRO for Kilimanjaro airport in the Arusha region of Tanzania.
Travel Note
We will be arranging and covering expenses for all transportation for the actual wedding events (19th-22nd). For transport to and from the airport, we will need to book individual cars for each person/couple/family as your arrivals and departures will all vary. Please send us your flight info via email to mandy@neemainternational.org once you have booked your tickets. $50 USD is the cost per car each way from/to the airport. We will have taxi contacts available for you should you want to plan any activities while you are in town. Payment will obviously vary based on where you want to go.
Hotel
We have blocked out 11 rooms total between Siringit Villa and the Safari House— all of these accommodations are located on the Kili Golf and Wildlife Estate in Usa River. Bride and groom’s immediate family will be staying at Siringit and other guests will be at Safari House. This is the recommended lodging option for Friday September 19th and September 20th for the wedding weekend. For the rest of your time in Tanzania, we will help each guest figure out their plans on an individual basis as we know your travel plans and itineraries will all vary significantly. We are speaking to other hotels to try to block out some rooms for the rest of your stays. **we have to fully booking and paying for the rooms now as this is high season for tourism in Tanzania, so rooms had to be paid upfront. Upon confirmation that you will be attending our wedding weekend, we will send over the costs for your accommodation for reimbursement.
Travel Note
All out of town guests from the USA will need to get a tourist visa to enter Tanzania. These can be done online and an e-visa will be issued to you without sending your passport anywhere. Visa website is linked below. Currency- You can bring US dollars and we will have shillings on hand and help you exchange your cash to save you from having to go to a currency exchange in town. You can also change money at the airport or take out Tanzanian Shillings from an ATM. The wedding events begin on 9/19 with a dinner. 9/20 is the wedding and 9/21 will be a brunch. On Monday the 22nd, we will head to Moshi (about an hour and a half drive) and tour Neema International for those who are interested. We will also be having a wedding celebration with all the Neema kids and staff on this day. We will NOT BE GOING to Moshi/Neema the week before the wedding, so if this is something that is important to you, please plan your itinerary accordingly!! The wedding festivities will conclude in the evening on Monday the 22nd.
