We originally met at Saginaw Valley State University, we bumped into each other a few times around campus; but we were both seeing other people at that time. Kevin reached out to me and asked me to hang out on September 11th, 2016. We went out on our first date, however, I wasn't ready to date someone new so we parted ways. Almost a year later, Kevin reached out to me through snapchat and we talked for a while through social media, he finally asked me out on a date and I said "yes", we've been together since.

One week before the proposal, I decided that I wanted to propose on our anniversary. I had the ring since July, and I wanted to wait until the perfect time. I called Destiny's mom, and asked if she would help, she spent a week coordinating with our families, and making tee-shirts for everyone. I told Destiny, after we had a anniversary dinner, that we would be going to a surprise location and she needed to wear a blindfold; of course she was reluctant. When we arrived at the Detroit Riverwalk I was nervous and I held her up so she wouldn't fall. We walked towards the location where our families stood with shirts that read "WILL YOU MARRY ME". She took off her blindfold and there I stood in front of her on one knee asking.. Will you be my wife? ......She said "YES".
