Jacob and Kolbie first met in middle school at Cora Baptist Church over the summer at Vacation Bible School. Jacob remembers Kolbie as the bossy, music leader and Kolbie recalls Jacob as the one who hit her in the face with a kickball- intentionally. The distant friends were "reintroduced", aka "set- up" by their Grandmothers, several years later on Easter Sunday, 2012. Jacob had graduated and went into the Marine Corps, while Kolbie finished nursing school and moved to Nashville. The two remained best friends for years; keeping up through FaceTime and when they were in the same state, always making time to grab lunch, take late night jeep rides and enjoy bonfires at the creek. One late night joking, the two agreed that if they weren't married by 30 they would marry each other. In 2020 the two were brought back together after a long, trying year. December 26th, 2020 Jacob and Kolbie took a chance on each other, upgrading from best friends to boyfriend and girlfriend. After dating for a year and a half Jacob proposed to Kolbie on the front porch of their home together. Jacob will be 31 and Kolbie will be 30 when they get married. Keeping their childhood promise to each other and beginning their greatest decade yet.
