Question

What is the attire for the wedding events?

Answer

The Beach BBQ on March 1st will be beach casual (think cocktail dress, sun dress, shorts, tropical shirts). We will be on the beach sand as the sun is setting and it will be hot! This is a birthday surprise for Clint! The Wedding Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception on March 2nd will be beach dress (think cocktail dress, sun dress, linen pants, nice shorts, boat shoes). We will be on the beach in the sand for the Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour (there will be a basket for shoes if you want to go barefoot) and there will be time to go grab your shoes if you want to switch for the Reception, which will be held on paved ground, but outside. It will be hot!

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

The list is long, but here are the main things to make sure you don't forget: Sunscreen, Bug Spray, Pepto (or something similar - the food is spicier in Costa Rica - both hot spice and flavor spice), Advil. These things are said to be expensive once at the resort.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

February/March is Costa Rica's dry season, so if we get rain, it'll be rare and it'll be quick. It'll be 90s during the day and high 80s at night.

Question

How do we communicate once we get to Costa Rica/the resort?

Answer

Download the World of Hyatt Inclusive Collection and WhatsApp applications prior to your arrival. The resort will have Wifi, so those will work and if you have an iPhone, iMessage will work on WiFi. Catherine's cell phone will be operable, so feel free to text or call as usual if you need her.

Question

Are there dress codes for the resort restaurants?

Answer

Some of the restaurants on site require different levels of covering up. While the swim up bars allow swim suits, many of the restaurants will require cover ups for females and no sleeveless shirts for men. Some of the restaurants require men to wear pants and no flip flops. Among these are: Portofino (Italian Gourmet), Oceana (fresh seafood), Himitsu (Pan-Asian cuisine), El Patio (Mexican cuisine), and there is a hidden French restaurant. These are the most “dressed up” locations. Please note only the Italian restaurant exclusively requires pants for men. For any other dress codes, you can find on the Dreams Las Mareas website under the dining tab.

Question

What are your plans while there?

Answer

Clinton and Catherine will be traveling in early on Wednesday, February 28th. We will plan to post impromptu cocktail hours on the wedding website and WhatsApp application the week of the wedding. These will be held Wednesday 2/28 and Thursday 2/29. We plan to hang out by the pool or the beach and enjoy any of the entertainment the resort has to offer. On Sunday 3/3, we plan to book several pool cabanas and hang out with whoever is left at the resort. We leave on Monday 3/4 to head to a different part of Costa Rica!

Question

What happened if I booked transportation with my room block (through Amanda Brooks)?

Answer

In December, you will receive an email from Amanda Brooks asking you to confirm your flight information. Two weeks prior to the flight, you'll receive check in information to confirm your ride.

Question

Any details I need to know about my room booking?

Answer

Refer to your booking portal for cancelation information, as each booking has different requirements based on what you booked. You will receive an automatic email in early 2024 to make your final payment on your room.

Question

What can I do to prepare for my trip to the resort?

Answer

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1975805365998117 We strongly encourage you join this Facebook group. There are lots of folks posting good things to know as you lead up to your trip, including local excursion companies and tips.

Question

Can I make reservations for dinner?

Answer

Upon arrival, we strongly encourage you speak with the concierge team to book any reservations for dinner.
