Matron of Honor
kellie + i met at our lockers freshman year at magnificat high school. i'm certain she started the conversation with a question. kellie has a knack for asking questions - many, many questions. at first glance, that quality is easy to brush off but it defines her character and speaks to her care. when she asks a question, she really wants to know the answer. she deeply cares about both what you had for dinner and why your day was hard - our friendship is 20+ years of questions + answers woven together. i've learned the art of inquiry from kellie, of letting the mundane and the meaningful matter equally, of finding the joy in learning a person. filipic + frazinger - thank goodness for alphabetical order.
Matron of Honor
it honestly feels like kate + i just magically became friends - i don't recall a specific moment where our friendship began.. we just, were. our friendship has always been easy, unfussy + steadfast. kate is someone who thinks deeply, creates new + strives for excellence. i learned these qualities of kate's through the many dances we choreographed - looking for new, cool moves, excellent execution of choreography and deep thought in song selection. over many years and with many miles between us, our friendship never skipped a beat. my trips to california and her trips home always reinforced the strength of our friendship, the ease of being together + reminded me how much fun it is to be kate's friend... especially when it's to the soundtrack of nelly, *nsync and maybe a little cher.
Best Man
as i looked for photos of chris and i together, i either came across photos of our beloved pup stevie or chris and i generally shirtless in some sort of matching outfit. when i moved to atlanta, a immediately connected with chris—no one else matched the work hard play hard, unbelievably stubborn, think they know everything, fratstar-attitude of a newly minted investment banking analyst right out of undergrad (cue sarah’s eye-roll now). fast forward 10 years and we may still have matching outfits, but i think it’s safe to say we have matured (at least a bit). i could always count on chris to go-along with pretty much any shenanigan i suggested, but check me back into place when warranted. chris is one of a kind and i am thankful he will be by my side on our wedding day.
Best Man
i think it’s an unwritten law somewhere that if you and your best friend are “deported” from a tropical location on your senior spring break they absolutely must be a part of your wedding one day. this photo commemorates that experience and also characterizes my friendship with braden. solid, steady, always loyal, with the ability to keep a straight face no matter which parent, chagrin falls police officer, or other figure of authority may be inquiring about what event just transpired. over the past 20 years braden has been by my side through thick and thin—he may have won our high school bet that I would get married at 25, but i am highly confident i can still chug a beer faster than him. our favorite game was halves and guess what, braden...you’re up.
Officiant
i always say i met annie seven years ago at harness cycle when i religiously rode her 5:30a spin classes but really, i've known her since our days of playing high school lacrosse. she was the cool upper classman - you know the one - with the infectious spirit + the loudest laugh on the field. we've been fast friends, annie + i. our friendship is full of adventure + ordinary - surfing in nicaragua and coffees at rising star, bikepacking in colorado and treasure hunting at liquidation stores. annie has come to know sean + i both as individuals and as partners. she has a wisdom we both value so deeply. we look up to and learn from the partnership she + her husband, andy, create + commit to daily. we are both so honored to have her words + spirit to send us off into our newest adventure.
