We met like most modern couples do.....ONLINE! I had seen his profile before, but he lived in Little Rock and I felt that was too far away from Dallas to be able to have any kind of a decent relationship. But his photo kept popping up so I took the plunge and reached out. After a few funny texts we decided to have a call and the more conversations we had, the more we wanted to meet. I was at my sister's in Tennessee so I drove through Little Rock on my way home and we met for lunch. I got to the restaurant first and when he walked in, BAM!....instant connection. After lunch, he took me to my car and asked if he could kiss me goodbye and I said, "yes", so he did and then it started to rain. So there we stood kissing...in the rain...and that's how it ALL started! At that moment, we both knew we would be making frequent treks between Little Rock and Dallas (almost every weekend)! It's been so much fun ever since and we are grateful for the additional love, family members, fun, patience, understanding, hilarity, support, silliness and LOTS of golf!
We had all the kids and grandkids at the house that day as we reserved a carriage ride in Highland Park to look at Christmas lights. In the afternoon, I ran an errand so while I was out, William told the kids his plans for the evening and wanted to ensure they were all happy with the proposal. Due to inclement weather, the carriage ride was cancelled and the kids immediately looked at him and said, "now what?!?" So he suggested taking a blended family photo later in the evening. While I was "corraling" everyone, he pulled me aside and got down on one knee in front of everyone. It was beyond special sharing that moment with our children and grandchildren.
