Amanda and Pat met at one of the most romantic spots in Babylon...the Post Office Cafe. It was a random Tuesday night and they were both roped into going out to the weekly "Lifeguard" night. It was late in the night and Pat was on his way out when he noticed a tall blonde beauty hanging out at the bar. He circled back through the bar only to use his famous pick up line, "Hey, you look familiar". Pat's blue eyes and charm quickly caught Amanda's attention. Over a drink or two, Amanda and Pat realized they had some mutual friends, a bunch of common interests and shared a love for traveling. As the night came to an end Amanda's friends were trying to get her to go home but she would only leave Pat with her Snapchat to contact her. When did he actually get her phone number? We may never know.

Now, just a little background, Amanda and Patrick had just gotten back from a beautiful carribean cruise in February and Amanda secretly had hoped the trip would end with a ring on her hand. A month passes and Pat decides to plan a Sunday brunch. Amanda was a little skeptical because Pat never plans brunch. They ate a lovely meal at the Argyle Grill & Tavern in Babylon. Towards the end of brunch, Pat takes a call and proceeds to tell Amanda that his brother Danny was walking around Arygle lake and wanted to meet up. Amanda was hesitant because she was wearing heels but agreed to go say hello to Dan. First, Pat of course needed coffee so they make a stop at The Babylon Bean. Amanda thought this was great idea because then she can stay warm when they walk to go meet with Danny. So coffees in hand, all bundled up, (and heels) they pull up to the lake. They get out of the car to look for Danny. Amanda said she does not see him and suggested to call him. Pat said that he is just a little further. (Aside: Danny was never at the lake.) As they get closer to the white staircases, they notice a wedding party taking photos. Amanda admires the bride and the beautiful scenery for special wedding photos. Before Amanda knows it, Pat drops on one knee to tie his shoe, pulls a little black box out of his pocket and asks her to marry him. Amanda responds with, "You're really doing this right now?!" She starts tearing up with happiness says Yes and Pat slips the sparkling ring on her finger. Patrick sneakily had a friend photograph this precious moment that will be cherished forever. Following the proposal, Pat set up a small gathering with our closest friends and family at none other than The Post Office Cafe. The happy couple walked into the restaurant hand in hand, receiving lots of hugs, congratulations and champagne toasts from everyone. Amanda does not regret the cold walk near Argyle Lake, but does regret wearing heels to brunch.
