Things To Do
Brandywine Creek Park
This is our favorite place to go for a walk or run. Erin trained for most of the Chicago Marathon in this park. A scenic 2 mile loop in walking distance from the hotel. There is a zoo and a rose garden to enjoy as well.
Bellevue State Park
For those who love to disc golf, Bellevue State Park has a great course. They also have a beautiful walking/running trail. Plus, you can get a sneak peak at our venue!
Hagley Museum
We love all of the DuPont mansions in the area. Heck, we are getting married in one! Hagley Museum runs along the banks of the Brandywine Creek. Admission grants you access to the museum, the first du Pont family home and garden in the United States, the powder yards, and a 19th-century machine shop.
Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library
Winterthur is the first DuPont estate Erin visited and is known for its gardens and museum exhibitions. The museum and estate were the home of Henry Francis du Pont (1880–1969), Winterthur's founder and a prominent antiques collector and horticulturist.
DECO Wilmington
DECO is Wilmington's food hall and is only a couple of blocks from the Courtyard Marriott and accessible from inside Hotel DuPont. This is a great place to grab dinner on Friday or lunch on Saturday.
Catherine Rooney's
For our soccer enthusiasts, this is a great spot to catch a game on Saturday morning. This spot has all of your classic pub food!
Pinji's Cafe
One of our favorite breakfast and lunch spots. Pinji is two blocks away from our old apartments. We love their smoothies and club sandwiches.
Casapulla's North Steak & Sub
In search of a Cheesesteak, look no further! This is our favorite hoagie shop in Wilmington. If you are traveling in and out of Philly, we have plenty of cheesesteak recommendations there too!
Wilmington Brew Works
We love this brewery! It is a short drive from our house. They typically always have a food truck outside and is located next to our favorite pizza place.
La Pizzeria Metro
Our favorite pizza!! Each pizza is named after a different Wilmington neighborhood. You can order your pizza to-go and take it next door to the Brewery! FYI - if you go here on Friday night, be prepared for an hour wait! It is POPULAR!
Washington Street Ale House
Ian's favorite local restaurant. They have delicious burgers and nachos!
Torbert Street Social
One of our favorite date night spots! Torbert has great cocktails and small plates to enjoy. Another great Friday night spot.
Stitch House Brewery
Stitch house has something for everyone! They serve beer, wine and liquor. They also have amazing food! Another great dinner or lunch spot!
The Quoin Hotel
One of our favorite recent additions to Wilmington! Enjoy a cocktail on the rooftop or in the old bank's vault! If you are looking for an upscale dinner on Friday night, the food is incredible!
Le Cavalier
Located inside Hotel DuPont, we love to go here for special occasions, like our engagement! A delicious menu, wonderful cocktails, and a fun atmosphere.
