Update

Covid-19 Update

While we were supposed to get married on April 4, 2020, the world had other plans. A few weeks before our wedding the CDC recommended all gatherings be limited to less than 10 people, and it's become even more restricted since then. We knew we wouldn't be able to have the wedding we planned on April 4, but we still wanted to celebrate with our family and friends so we've decided to push the ceremony and reception back to September 12, 2020. However, John and I just couldn't wait that long to be married!! So on March 18, 2020 (John's 30th birthday) we gathered our closest family at his parent's house and we got married right then and there. But unfortunately we weren't able to hang out and visit very long with our family, so we're incredibly excited for September where we can celebrate with our friends and family! Thank you all so very much for being patient and waiting a few extra months to celebrate our marriage with us. We also ask all guests to wear a mask during the ceremony or when they are not able to social distance properly. Also, get yourself tested after the wedding to ensure this celebration isn't the reason for an outbreak!

How We Met

6/23/18

John and Tabitha were set up by John's sister Emily and a mutual friend. After introducing himself over text John said "I know this is pretty straight forward but I'm not very good at texting. Haha. Would you like to meet at the Hub one day next week and get lunch?" Tabitha decided she had nothing to lose so she agreed. After meeting each other for the first time at a wedding (that John decided to attend once he found out Tabitha would be there) and then going to the movies together, they finally went on their first date. It turned out to be a pretty good one.

The Proposal

10/17/19

Tabitha and John had been talking seriously about getting married for a little while, so she knew it was coming at some point. John had also told her the proposal would happen "after fall break, but before November," so she had a pretty specific time frame to be looking for hints. On a Wednesday John asked Tabitha if she would want to go out to pizza the next day for a date, and of course she said yes. So Thursday afternoon Tabitha was getting ready for their date, and she decided to dress up a little *juuuust* in case John decided to do something a little more than just pizza. She knew something was up when John took the extra long way out of town, but she still assumed they were going for pizza. On the way there though John said "hey look! It's the place we first met, let's pull in there." At this point Tabitha pretty much knew what was coming, but she didn't want to say anything in case she was wrong. So they pulled into the venue and John said "let's get out and walk around." So they started walking across a covered bridge and into an open field, and that's where John stopped and started talking. He said a lot of nice things (that neither of them remember now), and then got on one knee and pulled out the ring. Of course Tabitha said yes!! John's sister Whitney was hiding nearby to snap a few pictures on her phone, which they are incredibly grateful for. Now on to the wedding!
