On a beautiful spring Vermont day we spent the morning walking Ella and going to get Evan's mom, Jen, flowers for Mother's Day. We then went over to Evan's parents to pick up their canoe and paddle out to our favorite spot, Green River Reservoir with Ella for a picnic. It was a stunning day, with nobody else out there but the resident loons. When we got to the spot, Eliza thought to herself that she should drop a hint that one day this should be where Evan should propose. Always in sync, later that afternoon Evan set up a camera under the guise of taking a family photo and asked Eliza if she would marry him. After a minute of no words and an open jaw, she said yes while Ella made sure to keep the loons away.
