How we met!

5.23.14

We met May 23rd, 2014 at The Cannery in Newport Beach. This was shortly after I made the move to California from Georgia. I was with my team from work and Evan was with his roommate for half off sushi. The restaurant was packed and we had 2 open seats at the end of our table. Evan and his roommate asked if they could sit at the end of our table and we gladly accepted. I explained how I was new to OC and they adopted me into their friend group. They invited me to their party the next weekend and I went and had a great time. The following weekend I had a party for my youngest Chihuahua, Leila, and I invited Evan and Zach. I told them it was a dog party... but they didn't quite get the concept. They showed up and saw all the dogs running around in tutus and sombreros (b/c Leila is from Mexico) and they were quite surprised but Evan stuck around nonetheless. We started spending a lot of time together after that and we became "best friends". In October, Evan asked me out on our official first date and we have been together ever since. We have so much fun together, enjoy the same passions and ultimately have the same life goals. Our relationship has grown and evolved over the past 4 years and I feel so lucky to have Evan as my best friend and life partner. I cannot put in to words how much I love him, our relationship, and the life that we are building together. He is my absolute favorite person to spend time with! I truly feel blessed that I get to call him my fiancé and future husband!

The Proposal

12.21.17

Evan and I purchased a new home that was currently being built so we were meeting with lots of contractors. So I didn't think twice about the fact that Evan scheduled a meeting with "contractor Mike." He surprised me and flew my dad out and dressed him up as "contractor Mike". He had a hat, mask, large overcoat, etc so I didn't recognize him. He introduced himself to me, I shook his hand, and then realized that it was my dad. I was slightly in shock, confused, and very excited! He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I very happily said "YES"!! His mom, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandma were also there to witness the occasion. We then went to my favorite restaurant to celebrate! Evan also incorporated pennies from Heaven to represent my mom and he had his dad's rings on a table with flowers, champagne, and candles! It was so thoughtful and sweet. I feel like I am one lucky woman! We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives! See you all in Atlanta in September!
