Jared and Eunsol knew each other since childhood, both growing up swimming competitively in Arkansas. But it wasn’t until junior high school until they really took notice of each other - they were both first chair for Alto Saxophone in their respective classes, and Eunsol remembers being proud of Jared, despite not being friends yet! Jared’s first distinct memory of Eunsol is seeing her walk up the steps at Washington Junior High School, rocking the pre-teen bangs and braces look, with her saxophone in tow... and thinking, “oh she’s cute.”

Eunsol and Jared grew to be close friends in high school, and they even shared a few “will they, won’t they” moments. They maintained this friendship throughout college years as well, and in 2018, while they were both going through some tough times, they found themselves leaning on each other more and ultimately growing even closer together as friends. In fall of 2018, Eunsol invited Jared to swim formal - their first unofficial "date". In summer of 2019, they decided to take the big leap in taking their friendship to the next level... And the rest is history! They are loving life in beautiful Utah with their little pup, Eska!

Jared asked Eunsol’s parents for permission (in Korean!) during Christmastime of 2022 and started planning for the perfect proposal. He knew he wanted their friends and family involved, so he reached out months before the planned date and asked each of them to send a special video. Jared knew that Eunsol always had a love for gazebos, as even from a young age, she thought they were timeless and romantic. On April 22, 2023, Jared took Eunsol to La Caille, a beautiful French chateau and vineyard in the foothills of Little Cottonwood Canyon. After a wonderful dinner of seafood fumet, duck confit, and wine, he took her around the gardens of the chateau. When they arrived under the dimly lit gazebo in the gardens, Eunsol knew it was the moment. He took her hands and asked if she was happy. Tearfully, Eunsol nodded, and Jared got down on one knee and proposed! Eunsol, of course, said yes!!! The photographer that Jared had hired peeked out from the hidden bushes, and Jared showed Eunsol the compiled videos from their friends and family, set to Eunsol’s favorite song, “Night Changes”. They spent the rest of the evening celebrating with friends, family, and champagne! April 22 was to be a date to remember forever!
