And so forever begins!

Ethan and I met in 2017 as first year teachers in the same school district. I can remember the first day that I saw him come into our induction class and thinking, “Wow! He’s super cute!” I figured he must have a girlfriend and told myself it would never happen. After some time getting to know each other, and learning that he was actually (somehow) single, he finally asked me out. I can remember being more nervous than I’d ever been getting ready for that first date-but I was so excited! We went for dinner and drinks in Greenville and talked for hours! As they say, the rest is history! We’ve been dating for a little over 2 years now. I didn’t think that our relationship could get any better until the day that Ethan proposed. We’d gone to downtown Greenville for one of our “fancy dates.” It was raining and Ethan seemed really anxious for the rain to stop, but I just figured he didn’t want to get all dressed up for nothing! The rain let up and we walked around Falls Park looking for somewhere to take some pictures. We walked up to the bridge where these two precious ladies offered to take our picture. One snapped a couple then started to hand my phone back. Ethan asked if she could take one more, and when I turned around to see why he was being so picky, he was down on one knee! He told me that he loved me so much, that he wanted to spend every day for the rest of his life with me, and asked me to marry him. I was laughing and crying all at once because the ladies taking our pictures couldn’t quit exclaiming, “Oh my goodness,” and “I can’t believe this is happening!” I’m so excited to spend the rest of my days with this sweet man. God really knew what he was doing when he created Ethan who helps me be my better self, makes me laugh, loves me unconditionally, and challenges me to grow. Here’s to a new year, and a new last name!
