Angela and Phil's engagement story began when Phil decided to book a vacation for Angela's birthday. She was, of course, oblivious to everything and just thought it was a nice, little getaway. Angela and Phil did not have any concrete plans for their trip; however as a birthday gift, Phil agreed to join Angela at CrossFit Lake Placid and share in her passion for working out. After the class, Angela and Phil went to breakfast where the waiter told them about a trail that surrounded the lake; together they decided to go back to their AirBnB, pick up their dog, Noodle, and go hiking together through the snow. The views on the trail were gorgeous, so they stopped to take some photos; however, to get the perfect angle, they had to kneel down. After they took a selfie, Angela got back up to continue to hike, but Phil stayed down on one knee. Angela's first thought was that he had hurt his knee or back from the CrossFit class. She asked, "What are you doing? What's wrong with you?" Phil responded that nothing was wrong, but everything was right; he asked Angela to marry him. She said YES! This getaway was in Lake Placid, NY, so it's fitting that they decided to go back to a place so special to get married.
