The day that changed everything. written by Erin A man spots a familiar face across a local sports bar. He digs in his phone to try and place her. They make eye contact a few times and smile at each other. She purposely heads past him to the bathroom. It clicks for him! They matched on a dating app, but no one messaged each other and that was a month ago! He contemplates if he should say hello, his best friend who was with him says, 'that ship has sailed'...he goes for it anyway! She spots him just outside the bathroom almost waiting for her and walks towards him. He asks if she is who he thinks she is, a little weirded out and unsure how he knows her name, she confirms...he explains why he never got around to messaging her (he deleted the app, so he said) and asks for a second chance. It was his country boy charm, a feeling, and the way he asked for her number, memorizing her digits on the spot - which left it up to fate, and his memory. Two days later they grab tacos, it was a Tuesday. He was sweet, he called her ma'am a few times which was a first for her on a date. Was this charming guy nervous, shy, too polite? She had to see if she could loosen him up, so she dared him to steal the waiters pen, in order to get a second date of course. He stole the pen, and soon after would also steal her heart, and together find the love of their life!
To make the best ever, long story, short. written by Kameron What do think when you have the perfect day? Do you smile from ear to ear? Do you write it down or tell a friend or family member? OR do you think about it any chance you get and hold onto that feeling? It was Saturday November 26, 2022. The day was perfect and that’s an understatement with how amazing the weather was that day. We started the day by checking into the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa. It was a surprise late birthday gift for Erin since I had to work all day on her actual birthday on November 14th. We laid out by the pool and beach and ordered drinks and food from the restaurant downstairs. I had made us reservations at a steakhouse and let her know to be ready promptly at 5:30pm. We had dinner at 6pm and enjoyed an amazing meal and a delicious cabernet. I asked her if she wanted to do something nearby that I think she might enjoy. Little did she know I had gotten us box seats at the Broward Center of Performing Arts to see Hamilton! We had an amazing time seeing the show. After the show we headed back to the resort to relax after such a long day of enjoying each others company. When we returned to the hotel I asked her if she wanted to take a walk down to the beach before heading back to the room. If you know Erin then anything with the beach, she was going to say YES. We walked down and had some talks about stars, planets and just life in general. I had scoped out the location a couple days prior so I knew where my mark was. She asked if I was ready to go upstairs. I said, “How about before that, we spend the rest of our lives together” I got down on one knee and told her I have loved her for so long and knew she was the one I wanted to marry and build a future with. I pulled out the ring, opened the box and asked for her hand in marriage. She said with a very big smile and watery eyes, “It’s beautiful, Yes, YES I’ll MARRY YOU!!” I stood up and we had the most special and loving hug and kiss! But that’s not the end of the story... after she said yes, some of our closest friends were there hiding and came out to celebrate with us. It was a very special and magical night for all. So I ask you, is this a memory you would smile about, shed a tear of joy, write about, tell a friend or family member or try to hold onto with every second you breathe? For me, I’m doing all of the above!
