Question
Where should we go for each event and when are they?
Answer
Each event will take place inside of Calaveras Big Trees State Park near the main entrance/visitor center. Welcome Dinner: The welcome dinner will be hosted in the Jack Knight Picnic Area (the picnic area right outside of Jack Knight Hall at 6:00pm on Friday June 21st. Ceremony: The ceremony will be at the Standing Sentinel Tree (down the hill from Jack Knight Hall) promptly at 3:30pm on Saturday June 22nd. We recommend arriving around/before 3pm to give ample time for parking and walking to the ceremony location. Cocktail Hour: Cocktail hour will take place outside at the Jack Knight Picnic Area from 4:00-5:30pm. Reception: The Reception will take place inside Jack Knight Hall. from 5:30-10:00pm.

What is the parking situation?
Answer
There is a $10 park entrance fee per car. Austin and I will cover this for everyone on our wedding day. We ask that people cover their car entry fee on Friday for the Welcome Dinner. We recommend carpooling if possible. Parking is limited near the Visitor Center (there is plenty of parking elsewhere in the park but it may be a further walk) so please allow ample time for parking and walking to the Standing Sentinel Tree for the ceremony.

Will there be cell phone service?
Answer
There might not be! Once you get up into the mountains more towards Arnold, there is intermittent cell service depending on your cell service providers. We recommend downloading maps or taking screenshots of lodging details and wedding event details beforehand while you still have access to service and/or wifi.

What is the dress code?
Answer
Welcome Dinner: Casual - come wearing whatever you would like! We will be having dinner outside so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a warm layer for the evening. Wedding Ceremony/Reception: The dress code is summer casual! It will likely be hot during the day and the ceremony will be outside so please wear anything you are comfortable in (think light fabrics, sun dresses, linen, etc.) It will likely be cooler at night and we will be inside Jack Knight Hall in the evening for the reception. We recommend bringing a warm layer just in case it gets chilly. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as we will be mostly outside on dirt and there is some sloped terrain.

Yes! We would love to have your little ones there to celebrate with us.

Do we need to bring anything?
Answer
We would recommend bringing a warm layer, sunscreen, and bug spray. You do not need to bring camp chairs, we will have enough chairs for everyone. You may bring one on Friday if you would like to. BYOB for the Welcome Dinner on Friday. Non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
